Glossary Of Terms:

Health Service Provider - Any person or company working in the medical
profession, paramedical industry or care industry, including doctors,
hospitals, community health centers, dentists, psychologists,
physiotherapists, etc This includes any other person or organization
which collects or handles health information such as schools, sporting
clubs, insurance companies, employers etc.

Service Provider - Any person or company that co-ordinates services
in the health industry at any level. This Act applies to any
individual/company or organization that provides medical or para medical
services to clients.

Client - Any person or company that seeks care, advice or treatment from
Health Professionals in regard to matters of health, illness or associated
matters

Carer - Any individual/s that are engaged in the care of a person/s

Company Statement

As a service provider, Windsor Home Care Services Pty Ltd support the aims
and principles of the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic). We abide by the Health
Privacy Principles and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality
and privacy of our health records for both clients and employees. Our
company policy enables those who require access to their health information
held by our company to be provided with such information upon written
request at a reasonable fee, based on the recommendations of the Health
Records Act 2001 (Vic).

Course Structure

1.0 This course is intended as a short course educating and informing carers
of the requirements and responsibilities under the Health Records Act 2001
(Vic) in their daily duties.

2.0 The course has been structured to be flexible to accommodate the varied
hours of the care industry.

3.0 The course is not intended to provide legal advice or counsel, but
awareness, information and understanding. In specific cases the company
and/or service provider are advised to seek independent legal advice.
